Adam Holland was renting a house built in 1896 — pre-electricity, not the nicest neighborhood —from his wife's grandmother, paying $400 to $550 a month to cover the tax bill.

The house next door burnt to the ground on their wedding anniversary. And he couldn't afford to move.

That was his reality. And instead of accepting it, he built a future memory so vivid —walking hand in hand with his wife and kids down a beach, watching waves wash away his child's first sandcastle, tears running down his face —that it pulled him forward through every obstacle in between.

Today Adam is the founder of Adam Holland Marketing, has managed over $25 million in YouTube ad spend, served as CMO of a $20M/year company, and built a boutique agency that runs precision YouTube campaigns for coaches, consultants, SaaS companies, and info product brands.

He got here the hard way —and the slow way. Which, as it turns out, was the only way that actually worked.

55 Failures and One That Changed Everything

Adam grew up in Upstate New York, went to school for electrical engineering, and during his senior year got prospected at his mall job by a guy younger than him who told him he probably didn't qualify.

His ego didn't like that.

He signed up for network marketing on his 22nd birthday.

He struggled. He drove three and a half hours through rush hour traffic with his wife and friends every Thursday night to Long Island for team meetings.

He built a little, watched his team quit, got discouraged, and went looking for a better way.

Around 2007-2008 he found the online marketing world —Jonathan Budd, Mark Hoverson, and eventually the AttractionMarketing.com community. He dove into direct response, SEO, and paid traffic, learning every platform he could find.

He got fired from a sales job right before he was about to quit anyway.

He worked odd jobs —basement finishing sales, three weeks at a car dealership. He kept building on the side. He manually installed WordPress 55 times, buying domain names he couldn't afford.

The 56th blog made him $60,000 in a matter of weeks.

Three weeks into his next sales job, his online business was making more than his paycheck. He never showed up to pick up his business cards.

He's never had a job since.

The Agency Built on Dollars That Have to Work

Adam started his agency broke and unemployed — which meant, as he puts it, every marketing dollar had to work.

That constraint shaped everything.

He went deep on YouTube ads while everyone else chased Facebook, quietly building one of the most technically precise YouTube media buying practices in the affiliate and direct response space.

He's run campaigns for supplements, financial trading, home services, business coaching, astrology, and custom accordions.

He keeps his clients. Long-term retainers. No revolving door.

His answer: the first five seconds are everything. Not 20%. Not 50%. More like 95%. Every word in those five seconds has to earn its place.
